Picked up the spider plants and transfered them to a bag of potting mix laid on the ground (rocks) as a makeshift nursery in the Utility area, left there for 4 - 6 weeks the plants recovered and thrived.

Re-potted 6 plants into 4" grow pots and placed them in front of the 2 climbers and Peace Lillies below the trellis. Scraped back the stones to the weed mat, placed the pots and scraped stones back around the small pots.
The arching leaves will cover and disquise the black pots in time.
Will need more plants to totally fill in area.
Lots of great info on this site including the tips below:

Although you can find almost 200 species of Chlorophytum the most popular is the well known spider plant 'Chlorophytum comosum'
The NASA Clean Air study has deemed Chlorophytum as one of the best
plants for cleaning indoor air. The benefits of having indoor plants
include an increase in negative ion, owygen and humidity levels, along
with reduction of negative elements, including mould spores.
Your Chlorophytum comosum will be happy almost anywhere you choose to
place it. No plants really do well without light altogether, but the
rugged spider plant is flexible and accommodating to just about any
level of artificial or natural light.
These plants dont require lots of water, usually allow to dry out a little (top 1") before watering.
Spiders do not require lots of much fertiliser. However they respond
well to an application of liquid plant food mixed to half strength
every few weeks during the spring and summer. Another option is to
apply Osmocote at beginning of Spring and again at beginning of Summer.
