Mona Lavender - Plectranthus 'plepalila'

 Purchased April 2017

Newly purchased and potted in Shane's old pot.

Full sun/part shade to Full shade, grows to 80cm high x 60cm wide.  Lavender colour flower spikes from late summer through autumn.  Ornamental foliage - deep green leaves with dark purple undersides.  Attractive neat, low shrub with an upright habit.  Does not spreak like other members of this family.  Ideal for low light positions.  Water requirements are low.  Prefers a moist, well drained soil.  A light pruning after flowering maintains a neat shape and encourages dense foliage growth.

Lightly pruned by mainly just having flower stalks removed

Although has pretty flowers, it gets to be really leggy and ugly without being pruned harder that it has been.

Took cuttings from prunings:

2nd plant (1st cutting) flowered and was lovely, here it is effected by heat and lack of water

2nd plant responding to water and slight prune

3rd Plant (cutting 2)
