Creeping Fig - variegated

Avoid direct sunlight, will tolerate a shady or low lit environment, does not like wet feet, will develop root rot

The creeping fig does like to be pot bound to a certain degree. However, it likes to spread it's roots just like it does outdoors and in it's natural habitat, so you are best to re-pot it every two years and cut back roots which are outside the main root section. If you're increasing the pot size and want the plant to grow more you do not need to cut back any roots. Cutting back roots should be done during spring when pruning is done.

Fertilise once a month with diluted liquid fertiliser.  A hardy, fast growing and potentially out of control plant that will take over if allowed.

Easily propagated from stem cuttings,

Purchased 2019, potted into hanging basket and hung from trellis in Alfresco. A position it apparently loves

Mandevilla sanderi - Diamantina Agathe 'Scarlet'

 Climber with red trumpet flowers-

Grows to 2M high x 50cm wide, Full Sun, Flowers from Spring to Autumn.

Fertilise in Autumn and Spring with 5 in 1 pellets.   Plant may defoliate in winter but will re-grow in spring, it is a srong climber and needs to be trained properly.  1st years growth was allowed to grow out of controll, plant had to be pruned back to 1' High

Easy to propagate from cuttings, best in spring - will root in water.

Purchased from Manawee early to mid  2018. Planted in front of trellis, situation was well chosen at the time - Plenty of mid day to late arvo sunshine.

Grew strongly and eventually took over the site.

2019 Mandevilla had to be cut back to about 1' high.  It was leggy at the bottom and took over the tree as well as was getting into the golden canes

December 2020 - The Mandevilla is not growing so well, it has started re-growing up the trellis but is not as vigorous as earlier.  It is no longer getting full sun at the base, overshadowed by the Peace Lillies on both sides.
